Responsible Business - Let's take responsibility!

Taking responsibility for the environment and the local community plays an important role for The Rezidor Hotel Group. All hotels take part in a dedicated Responsible Business programme. Each hotel has a unique RB Action Plan covering areas such as community outreach, environmental improvement, employee well-being and health and safety.

Responsible Business activities include:

2011: World Childhood Foundation
The hotel conducts regular fundraising activities and features a collection box in the main lobby

2011:
Member of Coalition “Companies against HIV”
Brian Gleeson, General Manager of Radisson Blu Hotel, Tallinn: “The statistics on HIV in the world today are quite frightening. As a business manager, I am committed to doing everything possible to raise awareness on the facts and prevention of more cases through our cooperation with the Health Estonia Association. We feel that modern businesses also have a responsibility to carry on the awareness of this tragic illness in our business trainings and coaching so that we can play a part in the reduction of the number of cases in the world. We all have a part to play and we are very focused on our participation in the Business Coalition against HIV, a truly progressive initiative”.

2010: Green Key recipient from 2010
The hotel's environmental objective is to reduce the negative impact on the environment by involving employees and guests to achieve the best outcome.

2008-Present:
Earth Hour
Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia when 2.2 million homes and 2,000 businesses turned their lights off for one hour to take their stand against climate change. Only a year later, Earth Hour became a global sustainability movement with more than 50 million people across 35 countries participating. Global landmarks such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the CN Tower in Toronto, the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and Rome’s Coliseum, all stood in darkness, as symbols of hope for a cause that grows more urgent by the hour. The hotel cares about the environment and switches its lights off every year for one hour.

2005 - Present:
Cooperation with SOS Children’s Village
The hotel hosted several campaigns to collect money. The hotel was a supporter of “Auction Campaign” in 2010 and the Coffee Campaign in cooperation with Pauling in September 2011. The hotel also features a money collection box in the lobby and free use of meeting rooms.

2002- Present: Cooperation with Avinurme Gymnasium
The hotel helped the school to buy better lighting for classrooms in 2002. Since then, the hotel has provided free accommodation and meeting rooms for teachers’ annual training, hosted children in homes and also provided internship opportunities at the hotel.
